Introduction

With over 20 years' experience dedicating to the entertainment industry, Andy Lau, an accomplished actor and singer, has starred in more than 100 films. He started his career in 1981 when recruited by Television Broadcasts Limited(TVB). The continuous and extensive exposure to cameras has assisted him in exercising his acting skills, which in return has earned him a high reputation throughout Asia.
Andy's endeavors in and enthusiasm for acting were recognized when he was nominated for the Best New Artist in the Hong Kong Film Awards in 1982. In 2000 & 2001, he was honored the Best Actor in the Hong Kong Film Awards & The Golden Bauhinia Awards. This has helped solidifying his place in the industry. In 2003 his deeply touching performance in “Infernal Affairs III” gave him his first Golden Horse Best Actor Award. In 2006, Andy was named “Asian Filmmaker of the Year” at the Posen International Film Festival for his contributions in the film industry and efforts in promoting new Asian film talents. In 2007, Andy was honored the “Nielsen Box Office Star” of the Asian Film Awards organized by the 31st Hong Kong International Film Festival.
